Generations

DSC04402_edited-1

I wanted to capture a picture of our hands together for a very long time…

Finally got to do that one beautiful summer’s day last year.  Three generations of women together.  Grandmother, mother, daughter…

…all first-born daughters.  I think that’s pretty wonderful.

I love the contrast of these hands I know so very well—from the smoothness of my daughter’s beautiful hand, to the older—even more beautiful hand of my mother.  There is beauty at each and every stage to me.

Even though I’m not especially excited about the age-spots, wrinkles & more-prominent veins in my hands, I love what they represent:  Age. Experience.  Love…Time.

The capturing of time—even just a little bit of it—brings me great joy…

…always has, always will.

I guess that’s why I do what I do.
