Courage

DSC01474_edited-1 {the real Annie Oakley—isn’t she lovely?}

The most wonderful quote I found from none other than the cowboy of cowboys—John Wayne—inspired these journal pages…

Pages painted in turqouises and browns seemed just the thing for these Wild West women…

“Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway”…perfect, isn’t it?!

courage 3_edited-1 {these beautiful Wild West women SO inspired me!  found on Pinterest}

Both pages together…a couple of my very favorite ones.

Journal Love

DSC01343_edited-1

One art journal finished…my very first one.

DSC01339_edited-1 {one of my favorite quotes from Abraham Lincoln…well said, Mr. President.}

A few last pages to share with you…doodles, found images, thoughts & all…

DSC01347_edited-1

What fun to put it all together…as I work on my journals I feel much like I think a Victorian girl would feel while working on her scrapbook—books filled with favorite pieces of scrap—images, tickets, receipts, words…

DSC01351_edited-1

Here, a funny thoughts that came into my head the other day…a personal little twist on a well-known, well-used question asked in jest {“who are you & what have you done with…?”}

DSC01330_edited-1

One journal finished, the second well under way…new things learned—both about creating and about myself—on each and every page…

More to come.

Crafty Secrets Christmas Challenge

DSC01330_edited-1

I just love this time of year…..time to gather the family around, baking time in the kitchen increases, homes get cozier…it’s just my favorite!

It’s also time to get busy planning all our Christmas projects!  Gifts, cards, tags—so many things!

I love this new “Snow Globes” stamp set from Crafty Secrets…

So much to play with!  Sets like this make creating so very easy—all the lovely images to mix & match.   I love silhouettes, so that’s what I chose today…

Just a little bit of watercoloring was all that was needed…and a bit of sparkle, of course!

DSC01337_edited-1 {beautiful paper prints from Crafty Secrets’ “Creating with Vintage Patterns” CD}

Some beautiful print-up yourself paper, a bit of lace & baker’s twine & you’re done—easy as pie!

That’s it for me today!  I hope you’ll take a minute and visit my fellow DT members for more inspiration—and welcome to our new ladies!

See you soon with something new…

Christmas Joys

DSC01322_edited-1

Okay…is that the greatest full-of-Christmas-joy face you’ve ever seen, or what?!

While just “googling” vintage Christmas photos, my eyes fell on this little guy—my smile got just about as big as his and I knew he was just the one for my little project…

DSC01325_edited-1

…an oversized tag—maybe for an extra-special gift, maybe for a big tray of Christmas treats, maybe just to hang on the tree…

DSC01320_edited-1

I love these vintage Christmas light reflectors—so wonderfully retro!

DSC01316_edited-1

Do you remember getting these drugstore Christmas stockings filled with treats?  I do! {that probably really ages me!}

DSC01314_edited-1

An easy stocking topper—a vintage Christmas postcard, another really fun vintage Christmas photo, a few trims & you’re done—easy peasy!

Just look at that face!

Wishing you lots of Christmas joy as you get ready for the season…
